The Debate
The group was given the task of coming up with a topic to do a debate about. We decided we would do the debate on a subject that was brought up in the papers at the time. The was about Russell Brand appearing in parliament and addressing MP's saying that there has to be more compassion shown towards drug users.
After the topic was chosen we were then split into two teams, one for the argument and one against. I was on the team for which would be putting points across defending Russell Brand's statement.
On the day there were great points being put forward for and against the statement and it was decided that the debate was tied.
Here is a link to an article I found which helped me in my research when getting pre paired for the debate.

My Artist Mind Map
For our artist mind map the class were each given an artist to research on and do a mind map on which would then do a small presentation on. The artist I was given was Euan Uglow, a well known british contemporary painter. I did not hear of him before that day, so I went to the library to find a book or two to help me for my mind map. I found a book in the library which contained a lot of his artwork and brief description at the end of his life and his achievements (Code of the book is 759.2).
Below is a pic of my mind map on Euan Uglow and a picture of the cover of the book which helped me in my research.
My Mind Map
We were asked to produce a mind map about ourselves which could include anything. In my mind map I chose a series of words in relation to my interests, College and skills I want to improve upon. I done a small mind map as practice and started in the centre and worked my way outwards, but for my actual mind map I chose to take a different approach to make it a little different. I done research and looked on google images of different mind maps and seen an example of someone who started on the right hand side of the page which I found interesting, so I decided then that I would begin mine from bottom right hand side and then work my way outwards. Here are pics of my practice mind map and my mind map I used to talk about in my learning to learn class.
